¿Tienen cita el martes por la tarde?

Do you have an opening Tuesday afternoon?

Parley is an interpreter for phone calls. You speak your language from the browser. The person you call hears theirs on an ordinary phone, a couple of seconds later, and their answer comes back to you the same way.

Questions

Does the person I call need anything?
No. They answer an ordinary call on a mobile or a landline. All of the interpreting happens on our side.
Will they know it’s interpreted?
Yes. When they pick up they hear one sentence, in their language, saying an AI interpreter is on the line. Calls go better when both sides know.
How fast is it?
Parley translates while the speaker is still talking. The translation usually lands a couple of seconds behind them. Short pauses help, as with any interpreter.
Which numbers can I call?
Any number in the United States and Canada. More countries are coming.
How am I charged?
From prepaid credit, at $0.09 a minute, by the second, from the moment you dial. Ringing counts, so an unanswered call costs only the seconds it rang. If your credit is about to run out, Parley warns you a minute before the call ends.
Are calls recorded?
If you want them to be. With recording on, each call is saved with its transcript, and the other person hears at the start, in their language, that the call is recorded. Turn it off any time in Settings.
Do I need headphones?
They help. Without them your microphone can pick up the translated voice from your speakers.
